There was a ton of energy yesterday at the NAACP Presidential Forum as everyone in the room was eager to hear how the candidates would address the issues presented at the event. With one of the questions geared towards Africa, we (me, 3 ONE members and Monet from Jubilee USA) were thrilled to hear candidates mention that we need to do more for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB.
After the forum our ONE members were busy trying to get the ear of the many reporters at the event to talk about ONE Vote ’08. While swimming through the crowd they ran into Sen. Joe Biden, who was sure to see all of our ONE shirts, wristbands and stickers as he stopped to talk to our members. Kim, Mary and Yvonne walked away proud knowing that they were helping to keep the candidates talking about global poverty and disease by having a ONE presence at the event. Great work, ladies!
