Turning Out to Tune It Up

As you will recall, the NAACP and ONE announced their partnership at the NAACP Image Awards in March of this year. This week I had the pleasure of spending the week in Detroit at the NAACP National Convention. Let me tell you, there were some memorable moments! Here are just a few:
- Seeing Julian Bond, Chairman of the NAACP
- Betty Turner, ONE member receives an Image Award for her efforts (not really, but it was fun to pretend!)
- Having our fabulous ONE members in the Detroit area (including Kim Dodd and Mary Albertson – pictured – and Devangini Patel and Yvonne Wyborny – not pictured) help me with the ONE table during the event!
- And last, but certainly not least, meeting Monet Cooper from Jubilee USA (a ONE partner who also had a table at the event). Thanks Monet for making this experience so much fun.
Tomorrow will be the most important part of my stay here: the Presidential Forum. I’ll be geared up with my ONE Vote ‘08 shirt, ONE members, and my ONE partner, Monet Cooper from Jubilee! Wish me luck!
